Worthy Brothers,

I want to thank everyone who came out for our Hot August Knights Family Activities Event. It was a great evening of fellowship, family, food, and, of course, some beautiful cars.

A special thank you to Worthy Brother Vic LoBue for organizing the car show and bringing everything together. And thank you to Worthy Brother Oscar Martinez and Worthy Brother Paul Reynolds for cooking the chili, hot dogs, and hamburgers and making sure everyone was well fed. Events like this are a great reminder that being a Knight is also about making time for one another.

This event also made me think about something I experienced recently in New York. While in Manhattan, I made time to visit St. Patrick’s Cathedral and spend a few quiet moments in prayer and reflection at the statue of our founder, Father Michael J. McGivney.

In a city that seems to always be go, go, go, stepping into the Cathedral felt like stepping into a sanctuary, a place to slow down, be thankful, and reconnect with God.

We often say, “I don’t have time.” And honestly, that’s true. We all have families, work, responsibilities, and countless things competing for our time. But maybe the question isn’t whether we have time; it’s what we choose to make time for.

Making time for the things that bring us closer to God, grow our faith, bless our families, and allow us to serve our communities is time well spent.

As Knights, I hope we continue to make time for those things that truly matter and I hope to see more of our brothers at upcoming events.
